John 3:16
Whether or not you’ve heard this verse before it still has meaning every time. Behind the words lays love, grace, compassion, and mercy. Read it again and think about what it really means.
God so loved the world that he gave his only son, whoever believes in him will not perish, but have eternal life. What does it mean? Try and think about it this way.
A man has only one son, one child, one, and in order to save the world, because of his love and compassion, he gave his only child to die for YOU. Pretty big, huh? And then it’s not done there, because his son did not just die but he suffered for us as well. He was betrayed, spit on, cursed at, beaten, and then crucified on a cross. I don’t think that anyone of us would ever even come close to thinking about giving our only child to die for everyone else. But there was someone who did. GOD. He loved this dying world so much that he let his only son, his only child, endure such a painful death, just so we could all live, for free. And all we had to do was believe, to believe that God would be so merciful and so loving. Can you believe that? All we have to do is believe.
Now it doesn’t stop there because next it says that, “God did not send his son into the world to condemn it, but to save it.” See? There it is again, to save us. Maybe you don’t quite get it yet, or maybe you cannot fathom how someone could love you so much, or how anyone could love you at all. If so I would like for you to continue reading.
God loves you even with your imperfections and mistakes. He loves everyone the same and he does not play favorites. God loves you so much and will continue to love you no matter what. God is not happy with your sins, but he does not love you any less because of them, he only wants for you to accept his gift and believe in him. All God is asking in return for eternal life in heaven is for you to repent and believe in him. All he wants in to form a relationship with you.
If you believe that you are ready to accept God's gift and to begin your walk with God,
